We decided to continue down the troll path, noticing another rift to the fire plane and then a cave. Orla sent her bat into the cave to check it out, and it noticed some signs of inhabitants. Some of us tried to sneak in and noticed some small creatures hiding. A fight ensued, which was mildly complicated by stumbling around in the dark. Whipp got burned. Gulden was briefly charmed into believing the creepy little enemies were his friends, but this did not deter Orla from splashing them with acid nor Kestyn from stabbing them nor Enna from summoning bears. Gulden finally realized his new “friends” were assholes, but his attempt at vicious mockery lacked vitriol, so Orla had to finish them off.
We discovered more “B” brands on their corpses. Then we set off down a side tunnel; eventually we came to a cavern with some disreputable foodstuffs, which some of us gathered and others disdained. Where two tunnels branched off, we took the left one and found a bunch more enemies, who immediately attacked us, rendering Kestyn unconscious. Gulden and Kiiv healed him, and the party set to work, taking heavy fire from the large group of kobolds. Orla’s fireball took out several; Gulden slowed them down and mocked them. Kestyn soaked up a lot of damage, while Morro picked some off and Whipp smashed a couple. Enna grew some spikes. One begged for mercy, so we spared him. The plan is to take him hostage and interrogate him next time.
